              Life without literature is death. Literature cannot be separated from our everyday life. Literature is vital in the life of a person. We see literature in our everyday life, and sometimes ignore it. Literature is everywhere. We can see literature from books like novels, comic books, mangas, and graphic novels. Also the books like encyclopedias, almanacs, yearbooks, dictionaries, atlases, and even textbooks and instructional manuals are all literature. Even the song we sing in the karaoke is a literature. Literature can be seen in our religious practices like the bible, prayers, and even the holy mass is a literature. One cannot deny the fact that we are with literature from our birth to our death. 

     We now understand that literature is everywhere. But there is a problem with literature. According to Mo Yan, one of the biggest problems in literature is the lack of subtlety. The lack of the use and knowledge of the figures of speech in literature in daily life is one of the reasons of why most people misinterpreted some statements of other people. The use of figures of speech may not be obvious in literature but that is usually important. Because literature must become artistic and creative in some other way. That is why the use of the figures of speech must been introduced to the public for them to understand more about the literature. In advertisements, companies can utilize the figures of speech in describing their own product, in a meaningful and artistic way of advertising. In this way, the people are educated about the figures of speech and misunderstandings between the people can easily resolved. Literature is a part of our life. We need to explore the wonders of literature for us to enjoy our life.

My Name My name “Jose” is connected to the name “Joseph”, which came from Hebrew and Aramaic word meaning “Yahweh shall increase”. In the Old Testament of the Bible, there was a man named Joseph. He is one of the twelve sons of Jacob that was sold by his brothers because of jealousy. Joseph became the Vizier of Egypt and in the end, the brothers reconciled with each other and lived in Egypt for a long time. In addition, my parents chose “Jose” in honor of our national hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal. In comparison, Joseph and Jose Rizal have in common. They both have charm that made them popular. The story of Joseph is one the most remarkable scenes in the bible. Likewise, Jose Rizal became our national hero. Both men showed inner strength and intelligence that made them successful. The Kawit Shooting Reportage

                         From the reportage that we have read "The House on Zapote Street by Quijano de Manila" was all about a crime of jealousy and possessiveness of the perpetrator. Our teacher in the 21st Century Literature asked us to do an activity which was to make a reportage about the most notorious crimes. Our group decided to make a reportage about the Kawit Cavite mass shooting incident. Happened on January 4, 2013 around nine in the morning in Brgy. Tabon 1 in Kawit, Cavite. Seven people, including two children and pregnant women, were killed when a man named Ronald Bae who has believed to be under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
